First-run setup

1

Install from the Microsoft Store and launch PromptPaste.

2

Grant microphone access when prompted by Windows.

3

Open Windows Terminal or your preferred supported target app and focus it.

4

In PromptPaste, lock the target window if you want insertion pinned to a specific workflow.

5

Press the mic button or hold Right Alt to start voice drafting.

6

Review the drafted text at the cursor, then send it when ready.

7

For image workflows, copy an image to the clipboard, focus a supported composer, and use PromptPaste's image paste control.

Enabling microphone access

Go to Windows Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Microphone and make sure microphone access is on for desktop apps. Without this, PromptPaste cannot detect audio input.

Image paste quick note

There is no separate upload setup inside PromptPaste. Image paste depends on the target app accepting pasted clipboard images in the focused input area.
